At Tailored Together, our average bridal client can anticipate spending between $300-$600 on their alterations and/or customizations. Prices for specific alterations are listed below. These prices would be the same for any elaborate special occasion type, for example, prom and quinceañera gowns.
Once the bust of the garment is in the correct location, the straps or shoulders may feel too loose or tight. In most gowns, this can be easily adjusted. In gowns and dresses with full sleeves, this is a more involved alteration and is priced as such.
Adding a bra cup can drastically improve bust shape and curvature. With the correct cups can be sewn into the dress to add support and negate the need to wear a bra on your event day!
A modesty panel can be installed to help cover an overexposed chest or back. We will work together to carefully design a piece that can blend seamlessly into the existing dress design.
A strapless wedding gown should be breathable and sit test approved, hugging the body so it doesn’t slide down. If a dress is too big in the bodice or cups, side seams or princess seams are usually the first thing to adjust.
A very involved alteration that can change the location that the skirt meets the bodice to better suit clients natural waistline.
For either a zipper take-in, replacement or addition; and we’ll provide the zipper.
One of our favorite alterations because it is a classic design that provides an easily customizable fit! A great choice for clients whose dresses are too small or won’t zip.
Show a little more? Or want to show slightly less? Whatever look is right for you. We can adjust a preexisting slit, or add a slit where there is not already. Gowns with multiple layers are a more involved alteration and priced as such.
A hem shortens the length of the dress to ensure effortless walking and dancing, or show off a great pair of shoes. Price varies based on number of layers and complexity of skirt design. Our average bridal and prom hem is $175.
By a simple faceting of skirt layers using a combination of buttons, ribbons, and/or loops, the train is raised off he floor for ease of walking and dancing. Most desired bustle types/designs include: over, under, ballroom bustle, and wrist loop. We can also do combinations of bustles to show off different layers. Price varies based on number of skirt layers and bustle design choice.
Delicately stitching clear beads over a white gown requires steady hands, sharp eyes, and a lot of focus. Whatever the color, design, or bead type well try our best to provide an outcome you love! Pricing is per hour of beadwork and may vary.
Dresses with 2 layers, and no appliqué or beading fall under this category. Most basic chiffon bridesmaids dresses receive the following alterations:
Taking up the strap so it doesn’t slide off shoulder. Some dress designs and body shapes require fashion tape along with alterations for a secure fit.
This alteration will tighten the dress along the side seams to have a more defined waist and secure fit.
Shortening the dress to help avoiding tripping or issues while walking. We can also make your long dress tea length or a hi-low. Price per 2 layers, each additional layer $15.

Making a shirt fit closer to the body for a sleek look. Shirts with sleeves may need an adjustment under the arm, this is a more involved alteration and priced as such.
We understand you may know a lot of things, but probably not everything sewing related. That’s why WE PROVIDE THE ZIPPER for zipper replacements, adjustments or additions. It’s the little things, but- you’re welcome.
This alteration cuts excess fabric off the bottom of pants to avoid tripping and damaging the fabric. Price will vary based on complexity of the fabric and number of layers. Our most common pant aiterations include: jeans, business slacks, scrubs, tactical and uniform pants.
We can sew a patch on to offer an additional layer of protection over damage or wear. Want to assert your fashion dominance as well? We will get those patches on for you! Price per patch.
All listed price ranges are for budgeting purposes only. Exact price will be determined at fitting and will vary based on fabric type, item construction, turn around time, and liability. That all being said, we did provide this alterations menu to give potential clients a realistic budget expectation. We believe the current price ranges provide clients a fair market value for alterations while providing our seamstresses a livable wage for their skilled labor.
In-home fitting fee $30
Most clients prefer the comfort of their own homes for fitting appointments, for which a consult fee is required. This covers travel expenses and skilled seamstress time where they’ll assess the fit of the garment to give a price quote. If the customer agrees start the pinning process can begin at this appointment.
Rush Fee $30
Typical turn around time for projects are 3 weeks. Projects needed before that may incur this rush fee. Limited rushed projects accepted per week.
